Looking to expand your mind and your ears in no small way? This CD will fling the door open on a whole new soundworld and stun your senses with what can be done with the human voice and instruments in the flute family. Featuring traditional and original music performed by World class artists, on traditional West African instruments (focusing particularly on the tambin, the flute of the Fulani people of Guinea), this is the epitome of the invaluable blessings that World music bestows on us: the gift of revolutionary sight into the many forms music takes all over this colorful world. Extraordinarily inspiring and moving.

Beautiful is the sound of Guinea. This recording swarms with the sacred ethnic sounds of of the Fula. I love it, it reminds me of Home. A must get CD.

Give your soul an adventure and travel with the sounds of the Fula Flute Emsemble. The multiple voices of the tambin (fula flute) speak, sing and cry simultaneously. This is a rare musical voyage: the ancient haunting flute melodies will transport you, and fold back the barriers of your heart.

I just want to let you know how much I enjoyed your concert. You and
your wonderful colleagues were really appreciated by all with whom
I have spoken. Beyond introducing us to new instruments and a new
music, I feel you've inspired a lot of us to do what we really love
even more fully, to be ourselves, to joy in collaboration, etc. We
regretted having to be out of the building so early- it would have
been great to allow the questions and discussion to continue. A beautiful
and infectious event! Thank you!"

played according to tradition the tambin, a West African wooden flute
associated with the ancient Fulani tribe, is remarkable for its distinctive
sound that combines both notes and vocalizations (an effect modern
audiences might recognize from the music of Rahsaan Roland Kirk or
Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull). In the hands of a master like Bailo
Bah, who hails from the Fouta Djallon Mountains in Guinea, the "Fula
Flute" weaves a magical musical spell. Bah's virtuosity, showcased
here backed by a rhythmially hypnotic ensemble featuring the balafon
and kora, is truly remarkable."

have been meaning to tell you that I love your CD! Wunderbar! the
music swooped around our bedrom and out into the back yard the other
day, when we had all the windows open on an unusually warm day and
I thought I saw the birds gather in greater masses on the terraced

think your Fula Flute CD is a delight. It is the first I have heard
of this kind of flute, and I think your recording is invaluable. Particularly
interesting for flutists interested in ethnic flutes and styles, etc.
I look forward to future releases. Blessings and thanks",
you so much for thinking to send a copy of your CD to me at the station.
I played Teriya tonight on air. What a wonderful recording. Congratulations
for keeping this classic style alive with such grace in this hemisphere."

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for putting such an incredible
cd together. I am an Ethnomusicology student at UCLA and spend most
of each and every day listening to music - lots of music. It is very
easy to become jaded when surrounded with such wonderful music. That
is why the Fula Flute CD surprised me so much. I came across the webpage
as I was surfing the internet and casually played "Keme Bourema",
I was astounded, so I listened to it again and again. Then I listened
to all the other samples - over and over again - I was completely
awestruck. The sound of the tambin was all I could think about for
three straight days. Finally at the end of the third straight day
of thinking only about the tambin I broke down and ordered the CD.."
I've received the cd with the fantastic music of that charmed, amazing
and magic flute. I showed the CD at my show radio, and my audience
went to the delirium. Thank you once again..."
